Ontario to BC in 2015 and was so professional and careful that when I moved back in 2023, I planned the move entirely around his availability, since I had such an exceptional experience. I’ve heard horror stories from friends about their other mover experience but this team was efficient, and careful with my things. I cannot recommend them enough. I assume he is more than busy enough from word of mouth reviews, but if you are lucky enough to find a spot in his schedule, take it! One of my new neighbours yelled at him as he was parking and he was still INCREDIBLY polite (despite being 2-3 weeks into his non-stop route!) I’ve recommended him to friends, and wish I could give more stars. This is a family run business and literally his name is his reputation. I hate moving so much, but Adam and his family make the move of my items something I can 100% not be worried about.
I have used this team of professionals twice now for Cross Canada moves. The owner Adam is actually on the job personally and is 100 percent committed to quality. Everything right from the first phone call with Dana in the office to loading and delivery of my Furniture and Motorcycles was top notch!
Their pricing is very competitive and the service is outstanding. Wishing Adam, Dana and Mike all the best. Thanks for everything!
I hired this mover in 2015 for a cross-country move, overall it went okay. He was chosen based on positive customer reviews and because he agreed to weigh my shipment at the government scales in the city that I lived in at the time, so that I could attend the scaling of my belongings. He asked that I post positive reviews for his business on a few websites which I told him I would do, however, I did not feel that his service deserved positive reviews, so I did not do it, however, two years later when my parents decided to move across the country they asked if they should book with him, l advised he wasn’t as bad as the previous Mover l hired, so he was probably a safe bet, at that time I posted two positive reviews for the mover to Help support a positive relationship between my parents and the mover for their pendingMove. At this time I would like to state that my parents are not involved in this review, they have not posted positive or negative reviews for this mover.
This mover was the only one available when I decided within a week’s notice that I was going to be moving back across the country, so I hired him. He sent me an estimate that included a $300 “long carry” charge, when I inquired about it, his partner informed me there would be a long walk between my building and where he had to park his truck, however, on moving day the truck was parked right outside my building, my apartment is three steps from ground level, and I had a very small shipment, on the other end of the move 90% of the boxes were placed in my garage 10% were put in the bathroom and 10% were put down a flight of stairs, half of which l carried myself. There was no long carry, this was a dishonest charge, in my opinion. I believe the charge was added after I remarked to the mover that I would be having my shipment re-weighed at the same place that he had weighed my shipment last time, where he immediately became hostile and tried to intimidate me into not having my shipment re-weighed. He said to me “why do you want to do that?..you know me“. He angrily went out of my apartment, came back in with the bill of lading and there was the $150 long carry charge on the bill. I had no intention of arguing with him or questioning the charge as he was angry and I wasn’t about to have an argument with him in that state. He said he would deliver in 2-3 weeks on his return from the East coast, however, a few days later he called me and said that he would be delivering mygoods on the Thursday before Good Friday, only 10 days after pick up. I asked him if he was going to be in time to go to the scaling station after the truck was unloaded and he asked me “oh.. you sure you still want to do that?” in a very intimidating manner, to which I replied “yes, absolutely”. He called me again and said he wasn’t sure he would be there in time to go to the scaling station, and that if I did not receive my goods without being re-weighed on the Thursday I would have to wait at least two more weeks as he could not stay around until Tuesday when the scaling station would be open again. He later let me know that he would not be arriving in time to have my shipment re-weighed. At that point, I felt that my belongings were safer getting delivered as soon as possible as opposed to being on his truck for two more weeks. In my opinion it was very clear that he had manipulated the situation in a way that did not allow me to have my shipment re-weighed in my presence. Once the shipment arrived and I unpacked I found several broken items, I found an $800 pebble wool rug damaged. All my boxes looked as if they had been left in the rain at some point, the tape had come off of almost every box, and were caved in, dirt was inside on everything and linens and clothes had to be re-washed. With repeated stacking and moving the boxes eventually cave in, and one of a set of two lamps was broken, three serving dishes broken, my almost brand new 5 x 7 rug had been taped without a blanket covering it and when the tape was removed it pulled the backing off the rug edges. All this, for me, was a negative experience with this mover, and I decided that I thought the public had a right to know the way I was treated, so I posted one review to a website. What followed is 10 times worse than his conduct throughout my move. He began posting five star reviews for his company in my name, on all the sites, and saying that I had bipolar disorder, was off my meds, that I wanted to apologize for giving him an unfair low evaluation, and that now that I was on my meds I was feeling better and thought that he was the best mover in the world. I posted more reviews to more sites describing his retaliation along with his moving service, not only did he give himself a five star or a 10 star review while slandering my name, he also attempted to have all my factual reviews removed. If you’re looking for an honest mover, good luck!
A. Breton Relocations moved me from Ottawa to Nanaimo, BC in May 2017, and it was a flawless experience. The communication with the company was great from the get-go-- from initial inquiries re: cost, the detailed and clear estimate, mid-move inquiries, and on the arrival of my items. The owner visited my home pre-move and gave me great advice on my upcoming move. They were 100% honest and showed me the scale rating, which came in slightly under the original estimate, so my move cost less than the estimate.
The 2-person crew, plus the owner, were professional, very careful with my possessions, and very courteous. They were so efficient and wrapped items properly. Everything arrived intact, no damage at all to anything, and was delivered to a storage unit within the time frame promised.
I've had 3 other cross-country moves that all had issues of some kind or another, but not this time.
A. Breton Relocations were not the lowest of the bids I received from other moving companies. I decided not to cheap-out with a lower bid and risk using a company that had poor customer reviews, jeopardizing the security of my possessions. The additional cost I paid for my move was not substantial and I got it back with the safe arrival of my goods and a worry-free move.
I highly recommend A. Bretton Relocations for a quality experience.
Adam and fam moved me from Victoria to Penticton. They were great. Mine was a small move, and I don’t have expensive furniture, but they still treated all my stuff with great care. They are deliberate, mindful, courteous, and professional. Highly recommend!
